We visited a dear friend's house in East Hampton and saw this contraption in their kitchen. What a fantastic piece of engineering. This epitomizes "old school" artistry. When we came upon it again in London we knew we had to purchase it. If you are sick of all the gimmicky wine openers from China that invariable break within the first few months we recommend you hit the purchase button. Show your friends you are serious about wine without having to open a Lafite Rothschild. Can also be used as a weapon against intruders but don't think that's what the patent holders were intending.
